I was born and raised in a village near the town of Valencia, Spain. There, I did a degree and master\u2019s in Telecommunication Engineering at Universitat Polit\u00e8cnica de Val\u00e8ncia. My master thesis was on the topic of \u201cAutomatic detection of pulmonary nodules in computed tomography using convolutional neural networks\u201d, which was the start of my interest for using AI in medicine. During my studying days at UPV and a year after finishing my studies, I worked in many different software development companies in Val\u00e8ncia. Last year, I applied for positions at the CLARIFY Project and I enrolled as a PhD student at University of Stavanger at the Department of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science, in Norway.<\/p>\n

CLARIFY presented as a remarkable opportunity to trigger this transformation for being an innovative and multidisciplinary program that combines engineering and medicine. When I read the post advertising the project, I immediately knew that I wanted to participate and I applied for a position that will develop algorithms to produce more accurate diagnostic systems. In the end, I joined position ESR5, which consists of developing algorithms and systems to extract diagnostically relevant information for non-muscle invasive bladder cancer with the use of image processing and machine learning techniques.<\/p>\n
