\n\t\t\tHi everyone! I am La\u00ebtitia, PhD student at the UPV in Valencia since October 2020.<\/span>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n

<\/span><\/p>\n

I was born in the French Basque Country but raised in a small town near Disneyland Paris. I studied Engineering at the ECE PARIS University in the French capital, where I specialized in Information Systems and Data Science.<\/span><\/p>\n

Throughout my studies, I always tried to orient my experiences towards making an impact in the Social and Medical fields. This led me to do an internship in a startup analyzing videos of common life situations to help guide visually impaired people. As my interest for artificial intelligence grew, I then joined a research group on top of the classes I had at the time, to discover the research field and apply deep learning to actual medical problems. There, I helped doctors decide whether a jaw operation was required by analyzing odontological images with deep learning.<\/span><\/p>\n

When I started my Master\u2019s thesis in the Spanish national center for cardiovascular research, focusing on the analysis of cell images to predict their toxicity mechanism, I already knew I would continue my journey in research afterwards. I thus started to look for a PhD opportunity at the intersection of AI and medicine. When I saw the opportunity to join CLARIFY to develop innovative deep learning algorithms for the diagnosis and prognosis of skin lesions, it was clear t<\/span>o me that I wanted to be a part of the project. I thus joined CLARIFY as ESR7 to do a PhD on the application of deep learning techniques for the characterization of spitzoid melanocytic lesions.<\/span><\/p>\n
