Today I am going to share my memories and my awards in Stavanger at UIS.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\nLet\u2019s start from the first day of these 3 months, a trip which started\u00a0on a sunny and hot day in Valencia and finished\u00a0on a cold and rainy night in Stavanger. During these three months,\u00a0I had\u00a0the\u00a0honor to work under\u00a0<\/span>Prof.\u00a0Kjersti\u00a0Egen\u2019s<\/span><\/a>\u00a0supervision\u00a0in\u00a0the\u00a0IDE lab at\u00a0<\/span>UIS<\/span><\/a>.\u00a0BMDlab\u00a0and people in there\u00a0made awesome days for me that melt into my\u00a0mind.\u00a0It is common to post the results and outputs of our Ph.D.\u00a0project in CLARIFY blogs, but here I would like to share something more than\u00a0the result of a Convolutional Auto Encoder (CAE). As I mentioned before, I was teaching at some universities in my country, Iran. One of my\u00a0personal\u00a0goals in my life is to be a professor at\u00a0a university. So, these secondments provide a promising opportunity to observe different methods of teaching and communicating with students. Thanks to Prof.\u00a0Kjersti\u00a0and\u00a0Prof.\u00a0<\/span>Trygve<\/span><\/a>, I had a weekly meeting to analyze\u00a0the progress and discuss the next steps. Although we were talking about the next steps\u00a0to improve the accuracy of our proposed methods, I was\u00a0able\u00a0to find\u00a0good answers\u00a0to\u00a0my personal\u00a0questions.\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<\/span><\/p>\n\u201cHOW CAN BE A GOOD PROFESSOR?\u201d<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n\u201cWHAT KIND OF FEATURES CAN MAKE AN\u00a0OPTIMUM\u00a0PROFESSOR?\u201d<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\nThe\u00a0intimate\u00a0meetings during these three months\u00a0motivated\u00a0me to share all my ideas and even\u00a0worse\u00a0results with them to analyze\u00a0them better. As a result, we could reach an optimum result of Content-Based Image Retrieval (CBIR) on CIFAR-10 and\u00a0Mnist\u00a0datasets.\u00a0(The first step of CBIR is done.)<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\nBesides\u00a0all these meetings\u00a0in the field of Machine Learning (ML), I had a chance to attend some lectures\u00a0on pathology topics held on by\u00a0<\/span>Prof.\u00a0Emeil\u00a0Janssen<\/span><\/a>\u00a0to learn\u00a0the tissues\u00a0deeper.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n\u00a0If I want to write about these three months, it would be a book.
